Letter from Lieutenant-Commissioner John J. Allan of Chicago branch of the Salvation Army to Torrey Johnson, May 31, 1945. This letter mentions what is often remarked on reports of the rally, how the weather had been very bad the days immediately before and after the rally, but beautiful on the day itself. He also refers to the widely varying estimates on the size of the meeting and speculates that it was the largest Protestant meeting ever held in Chicago.
